Today I wanted to share more outfit pictures from vacation. One of my favorite things about spring and summer dressing is being able to mix bright colors. Ever since I got these pants, red + turquoise has been a go-to combination of mine (seen here and here). I like it because it's a little unexpected, but the two colors still complement each other really well. What is your favorite bright colored combination?

Day 10: Embracing Color

Last weekend Natalie and I decided to have a girls night out. We went to Blockheads, a cute little outdoor restaurant for $4(!) drinks and Mexican food. It was the perfect way to celebrate our last weekend in the city, even if at the time we thought we still had another weekend ahead (this was all Pre-Irene). I threw this outfit together really fast, but I kind of love it! I've definitely embraced color more this summer than I ever have before. Brights are a big trend for Fall as well, so now I just have to figure out how to transition my colorful pieces into cooler weather. Will you be wearing bright colors this upcoming season?

April (Faux) Flowers

What do you do when it's April, and you're still wearing your winter coat because the sun refuses to shine and the temps won't rise? You put on your brightest tee shirt and slap a faux flower on your chest and DEMAND that Spring arrive right this instant. That's what I did, at least. The jury is still out on whether Mother Nature decided to listen or not...

Taking A Step Back

This morning I stood in front of my closet, on the verge of running late, and felt absolutely clueless. Nothing was jumping out at me, and I started to panic a little that I was never going to make it to class because I wasn't going to be able to decide on an outfit. I decided to step away and do my hair and makeup first, which isn't my normal routine. By the time I made it back to my closet, I felt much calmer and ended up loving the comfortable/casual combination I came up with. Sometimes, you just have to take a step back and not take it so seriously. Getting dressed in the morning should be fun. Now if only it would warm up so I can put on some bright colors. It just doesn't feel right to wear rainbow brights when it's so cold and gray outside, even if it is almost April. Who else is excited for all of the fun, bright colors that spring is bringing this year?
