Everybody, Everywear: Colored Pants (and Day 16)

I was way excited when I saw today would be colored pants day over at Everybody, Everywear. Not only do I have red jeans, but they're also part of my 30 for 30! It's funny because when I first bought these pants, I actually almost returned them because I was afraid to wear them. But after a wear or two, I was hooked and now wear them all the time! I think the 30 for 30 helped a lot in changing my opinion of them; when you only have a limited number of items to choose from, you have to learn to love/work with what you've got. Here are all of the ways I've worn them since I bought them in July:

And there are many more ways to come! Also in a completely unrelated note, the next time you see me (AKA tomorrow's post), I'll be a BRUNETTE! I decided it was time for a change, and although it's going to take some getting used to, I think I like it. Can't wait to hear what you think!

Polka Dots and Animal Print

What I'm wearing: Old Navy polka dot blouse, Gap cardigan, Banana Republic outlet belt, J.Crew outlet bootcut jeans, J.Crew flats.

I'm in a great mood today. Here's why:

-The sun is out! And it was even warm enough to wear flats to class without freezing my toes off. A true sign that Spring is on its way.
-One week from today, my finals will be over and I'll be heading home to Cincinnati to spend a week and half with family.
-It's polka dot day at Everybody, Everywear! So excited to see what everyone else has come up with.
-I'm loving the print-mixing I have going on here. It's subtle, but I like the polka dot/zebra print contrast.
-The Target Go International dress launch is this weekend! I've been itching to shop ever since I found out I got my internship, so this is the perfect excuse to pick up a few new pieces I can wear this summer.
-It's my roommate Alex's birthday today! Happy birthday Alex!

An Investment Piece: The Blazer

What I'm wearing: Forever 21/Heritage 1981 button-down, Gap blazer, Old Navy skinny jeans, Aldo boots, Forever 21 necklace

It's blazer day at Everybody, Everywear! I usually don't wear blazers during winter because I think it awkward to wear a winter coat over them, but today I tried it out anyways. And I actually kinda liked it! I love blazers; they make me feel so polished. I bought this as one of my big "back-to-school" items in 2009, and while it cost a little bit more than I would normally spend on one item, it was definitely worth the investment. Now I just need a black one to round out my collection. So go ahead, get on over to Everybody, Everywear and see how everyone else styled up their blazers!

Everybody, Everywear: Stripes

No outfit pictures today. I've been feeling kinda blahhhh, which resulted in me wearing yoga pants to class. Word on the street is that today is Breton Stripe day, so I'm going to make an effort to bust out some stripes tomorrow, even if I am a day late. Have you guys checked out Everybody, Everywear yet?

I have a feeling this site, created by Linda and Liz, is going to turn into an awesome inspiration resource for many of us. It is so great to see how everyone interprets stripes a little differently. As Close as I Can Get to Wearing Pajamas to Class

What I'm wearing: Forever 21 Fair Isle sweater, Old Navy gingham button-down, Gap Always Skinny jeans, Ciao Bella boots, Earrings via the Pink Box

Because of the back pain I've been having due to my spondylolisthesis, comfort has been key recently. Add nasty cold weather into the equation, and you're pretty much left with me picking the items in my closet that are the closest I can get to wearing pajamas to class. This sweater has been my go-to lately for staying warm and cozy. Although its only appeared on the blog one other time, I wear it almost every day, usually when I'm all cuddled up in pajamas at night. At the time when I bought it, I wished they had a size smaller in stock, but now I'm kind of glad I got the large. Its oversized, which lends to the cozy feeling. I paired it with my gingham button-down from Old Navy, which is super soft and roomy. Speaking of gingham, have you guys checked out Everybody, Everywear yet? It's the brain-child of the lovely ladies Linda and Liz , and it is such a great way for bloggers to show how they remix their basics and also get inspiration from other stylish ladies.
