Spring Break Style (and my return to blogging!)

What I'm wearing: J.Crew outlet dress and belt, Dolce Vita for Target wedges, Francesca's earrings

I've been itching to get back to blogging, so I figured this would be a good time to share some of my pictures from my vacation over spring break. Two friends and I went to Florida for a week, and it was incredibly relaxing. There is nothing like sun and sand to help you get a little perspective. I also enjoyed being able to wear some of my summery clothing that had been pushed to the back of the closet for far too long. Expect to see a lot more of these wedges this season; they were extremely under-utilized last spring and summer. Here are a few more snapshots from our vacation:

It's getting hot, hot, hot

What I'm wearing: H&M blouse, J.Crew outlet striped skirt, J.Crew flats, Urban Outfitters earrings, NY&Co. bangles, Tiffany's bracelet

It's a good thing I wore this light blouse and airy skirt yesterday, because it was HOT. We had a heat advisory here in NYC, and temps were in the high 90s. On any given day at work, I run at least a few errands, so I have to keep the heat in mind when getting dressed in the morning. I feel like this outfit was subconsciously inspired by this one, which has been all over pinterest. This striped skirt is a newer purchase, and I just love it. I wanted to pair it with my navy blazer, but it's way too hot for that. Well I'm off to battle the heat for the last time...it's almost the weekend!

Hamburglar Chic

BFF-1

BFF-2
What I'm wearing: H&M sweater dress, H&M striped blazer, Target tights, Ciao Bella boots via DSW, Forever 21 earrings, Thrifted necklace ($2!), Forever 21 belt

It's official...I made it through my last week of winter quarter classes! This is what I wore for our end of the quarter banquet for my honors fraternity. It was "business-casual" which for us basically means anything but jeans. I hadn't worn this blazer in forever so I made sure to work it into my outfit. My roommate Alex told me it was very "hamburglar chic" haha. I really like how it turned out with the dress and gold accents. I can't wait until it gets just a little warmer so I can start doing outdoor pictures again; these indoor ones are so grainy and crappy quality. Okay, well I'm off to spend a relaxing evening with the boyfriend and then the rest of my weekend buried under a stack of schoolbooks. I'll be back again on Wednesday once all of my finals are over!

Everybody, Everywear: Stripes

No outfit pictures today. I've been feeling kinda blahhhh, which resulted in me wearing yoga pants to class. Word on the street is that today is Breton Stripe day, so I'm going to make an effort to bust out some stripes tomorrow, even if I am a day late. Have you guys checked out Everybody, Everywear yet?

I have a feeling this site, created by Linda and Liz, is going to turn into an awesome inspiration resource for many of us. It is so great to see how everyone interprets stripes a little differently. And I love all the pattern mixing! And if you didn't get a chance to wear your stripes today, join me tomorrow!

Just Can't Get Enough: Stripes

BFF-1

BFF-2
What I'm wearing: Old Navy cardigan, Forever 21 ruffle tank, Gap Always Skinny jeans, Aldo boots, Urban Outfitters earrings, Forever 21 bronze belt

Second day in a row wearing stripes. You can never have enough of a good thing, right? I'm definitely going through a stripes phase right now. I'm trying to get more mileage out of my closet, which is why I chose both this tank and cardigan because neither had been worn in awhile. I also think I was subconsciously influenced by my roommate Jillian, since the cardigan+belt combo is pretty much her signature look. But back to using my wardrobe more efficiently...I intended to make a "forgotten five" post on Monday night, but this week has been super busy between my night classes and helping choose new members for an organization I'm in on campus. Next week is a short week (yay!), so I promise to use my long weekend to its full advantage and get the Forgotten Five up and running again. How do you plan to spend your long MLK-day weekend?
