Day 2-Just What I Needed

day 2

November 9, 2010 027

November 9, 2010 022
What I'm wearing: Forever 21 top, Gap blazer, Thrifted belt via Valley Thrift, Gap Always Skinny jeans, Nine West boots, Earrings via NYC street vendor

I was excited to wear this top today. It was one of my last minute purchases right before the challenge started (come on, you know you did that too), and it just seems so perfectly Autumn to me. Its been unseasonably warm here the past few days, so I took advantage and wore just my blazer over top. It was really nice not having to bundle up for the walk to class; I'm dreading the day when I have to start wearing bulky coats over my outfits. The belt was a last minute addition as I was running out the door, but I think it was just what I needed to pull everything together. You know what else I needed? This 30 for 30 challenge. It has me excited to get dressed every morning and see what kind of combinations I can come up with. I'll probably feel differently come Day 15, but for now, I'm loving it.

Day 2- Western Cowgirl

Being back in Ohio not only means spending quality time with family and friends, but finally having better pictures to post on the blog-- pictures taken outside by a person instead of a self-timer. And they even include my feet! Today is Day 2 of my 30 for 30 challenge. I will be posting my 30 items tonight!

Occasion: Lunch with a friend
What I'm wearing: Button-down shirt (free from internship), American Apparel navy skirt, Merona sandals via Target, Thrifted belt, Forever 21 leaf earrings

Something about this outfit makes me feel a little western cowgirl. I think its the shirt. This shirt was one of the ten free items I got from my internship this summer. It looks like denim, but its actually made of a lighter fabric. Its not something I would normally choose for myself, but I decided to include it in my 30 items to see what I could do with it. Its a little big, but I think I can definitely make it work. These sandals are the Merona sandals I ordered from Target.com. to replace my Isaac Mizrahi ones that are falling apart. They aren't quite as comfy as my old ones, but I think after breaking them in a little they will definitely be a suitable replacement. Yesterday, I went to Target to return a few things, and you will be proud to know I practiced a lot of restraint and didn't go near the clothes or shoe section. I'm glad this challenge is finally teaching me some self-control...
