30 for 30: Round 3 picks

Surprise! I've decided to do another 30 for 30! It's been awhile since my first two (which can be seen here and here), so I thought it was about time I did another. If you're new to my blog and are thinking "what the heck is a 30 for 30?", check out Kendi's explanation....as the leader of this whole movement, she explains it best. So why a 30 for 30 now, when everyone else (like Kendi and Linda, just to name a few) recently finished theirs up? Next weekend I will be moving out of NYU and into my friend's apartment for three weeks, so I will essentially be living out of a suitcase for a little while. Therefore, it seemed like the perfect time to do another remix challenge. I didn't agonize as much as usual over what to include...I'm not sure if that means I'm getting better at this or that I'm just lazy and am going to regret some of my picks halfway through. As of now, I've only included 29 items, which thankfully leaves me a little wiggle room. Here's what I've chosen for my third 30 for 30:

30 for 30: Link Love from the Sidelines

As you've probably figured out by now, I've decided to sit out this round of the 30x30 challenge. After participating twice in 2010 (seen here and here), I decided I need a little bit of a break. But that doesn't mean that I'm not still keeping up with all the remixers out there who were brave enough to give it a try. The link list of remixers is HUGE, so I'm slowly trying to work my way through it. The 30x30 is such a great way to find new blogs and connect with amazing bloggers with similar interests. Here are some of the great posts I found this week:

-The remix master herself, Kendi, shows how to work multiple bright colors at once. She puts my wardrobe of black and gray to shame.
-Linley of Dwelling and Telling is another person who could teach me a thing or two about color. She wore bright red pants and completely rocked them! She was also featured over at KendiEveryday explaining why she remixes.
-Kelley from The Eclectic Owl shows us how easy it is to mix patterns in the same color family.
-Betsy from Miss B Gets Dressed looks fabulous with her scarf, jacket, and blogger bun combo. Plus she has some great advice via Snappy Casual about piling on the accessories for a more unique look.
-Keira from A Pretty Penny looks so cozy but cute in her cocoon sweater. Plus, I'm super jealous of her dressform; I really, really want one for myself!

I found all of these bloggers (minus Kendi) through the last two 30x30 challenges and am really excited to see them working their remix magic again. I'm also really excited to find a bunch of new amazing bloggers through this round of the 30x30. Keep up the good work, ladies!

Day 6 & 7- From Day to Night

On Friday, I decided to remix the same top two different ways, once for day and once for evening. First, I styled it up for group project meeting at the student union, and then later I wore it to a get-together with friends. Although it was all the same day, I'm counting it as days 6 and 7 since they were two separate looks.

What I'm wearing: Forever 21 top, H&M skinny pants, J.Crew flats, Forever 21 crystals necklace

Of the two looks, I like the first one best; the belt worked nicely with the over-sized knit. I'm already getting so sick of taking indoor pictures (do you like how the edge of my fridge keeps making guest appearances at the bottom of every photo?). Boo cold weather and nightfall at 5 PM. It's making me feel like an amateur blogger. I promise I'll get my act together one of these days...
