Thank You, Random Stranger

What I'm wearing: Forever 21 sweatshirt, Gap tee, Old Navy skinny jeans, Old Navy boots, Macy's necklace (previously seen here)

First, I just wanted to thank everyone who commented or emailed about last night's post. Any advice is welcome, so keep the ideas coming! As for today's outfit, I have a random stranger to thank for the inspiration. A girl came into my work today wearing these boots, which inspired me to dig mine out from my closet. Seeing as how it's almost May and should be warm out, I had pushed these to the back, thinking I wouldn't be wearing them again until Fall. But Ohio weather never cooperates (I had to wear my winter coat today!), so I was able to build a whole outfit around them. I added my blue chain necklace as a final touch, and I like how it gave a little something extra to an otherwise very casual outfit.

An Unlikely Combination

What I'm wearing: Gap cardigan, J.Crew painter tee, Old Navy skinny jeans, Old Navy short cowboy boots, Pearl necklace (made by me!), Forever 21 belt

I went through a phase in high school where the only jewelry I would wear was pearls. Earrings, bracelets, necklaces, you name it. I thought that wearing pearls made me "classy". Now I hardly ever wear them because they seem much too obvious and stuffy. But today I was looking for the right finishing touch for this outfit, and I reached into my jewelry box and pulled out this strand of light pink pearls that I strung together a few years back. I liked that they weren't an obvious choice; I normally wouldn't pair cowboy boots with pearls, but I really like how it turned out. I'm not sure how I feel about blogging in the morning like this, but with a crazy busy week of midterms ahead, I'm not sure if I have a choice. Only four weeks until Spring break, which means the launch of my Etsy shop! I can't wait!

Me and My Boots: Reunited

What I'm wearing: Old Navy button-down, Banana Republic outlet jeans, Old Navy cowboy boots, J.Crew outlet scarf, Pink Box earrings

You want to know what one of the best things about being home for a month was (besides sleeping in, spending time with family, and having endless time to spend reading and crafting)? Having my own little personal photographer at my disposal. I already miss being able to step right out the door and have my mom take my pictures, and then scurry back inside to get warm. Now I'm stuck taking indoor pictures with crappy apartment lighting and begging my roommates to snap a few for me (thanks Joslyn!). So enjoy these pictures while you can; I probably won't have many more outdoor photos again until Spring. I wore this outfit for one of my last days in Cincinnati, which I spent visiting with family friends (who have four ADORABLE little girls...I wish I had taken some pictures!), having lunch with my mom and aunt (Panera breadbowls= delicious), and doing a little shopping. I really liked this outfit; it was perfect for a busy day. It was comfortable, but still had style. Plus, my prediction is already coming true--I'm going to be wearing this scarf constantly...so cozy! And I was also super excited to be reunited with trusty Old Navy cowboy boots that weren't a part of my 30 for 30. You'll be seeing a whole lot more of these babies now that I can wear them again!

Happy One Hundred!

Today I am celebrating my 100th blog post! I'm so excited about how much Best Foot Forward has grown over the past few months, and I can't wait to see where it has gone by the time I'm finished with the next hundred. Also, to celebrate the expansion of BFF and to finally join the 21st century, I finally created a twitter account! I'm still kind of checking it out and playing around with it, but expect to see it in on the sidebar of the blog sometime this week!

(Yes, I think these pictures are clever...just let me believe it)
What I'm wearing: Forever 21 cardigan, American Apparel skirt, Old Navy boots, Urban Outfitters earrings

I cannot get enough of these boots! This morning I was debating between these and a pair of gray J.Crew flats, but I went for the boots. They perfectly balanced out my bare legs and semi-short skirt. I personally feel this outfit looked much more flattering in person, but hey- I guess that happens sometimes. Also, while celebrating my 100th post, I would like to thank everyone who has been reading Best Foot Forward. Your sweet comments make my day. Thanks for following Best Foot Forward :)

Polished Cowgirl

Since I started taking self-timer outfit pictures, I've noticed how many great places there are around campus to do my little photo shoots. Who knew there were so many brick walls and weird cement sculptures around here, just waiting for someone to pose in front of them? I'm happy to say I'm starting to get the hang of the whole self-timer deal, and my camera is once again functioning with a full battery.

What I'm wearing: Gap blazer, Old Navy button down, Gap Always Skinny jeans, Old Navy cowboy boots, Urban Outfitters earrings

I originally was a little apprehensive about wearing this shirt and these boots together; I was afraid it would look a little too "cowgirl". But the blazer added just the right amount of polish to pull it off. I clearly need to invest in some more skinny jeans because jeans and boots has become my new daily uniform. So practical for class and all of the walking I do on campus. I was excited to finally debut these new boots. I was inspired to get some short cowboy boots after seeing my little jr. high cousin (hey Taylor!) wearing some while she was in town at the end of summer. They looked adorable on her, so I had just had to find a pair for myself. Can you believe these are from Old Navy? Cute, comfortable, and affordable!
