InVested

bff-8

What I'm wearing: J.Crew outlet tee, Old Navy vest and skinnies, Ciao Bella boots via DSW, Scarf via SoHo street vendor, Vintage gold cuff bracelet

This was my Thanksgiving day outfit, and it was purposely chosen because it allowed for large amounts of eating. These are my stretchiest jeans with lots of give in the waist, and this vest can hide even the biggest food baby. But beyond it's ability to hide second helpings of broccoli cheese casserole, I also loved the way this outfit looked. I've loved this vest since the day I bought it and wear it almost weekly. The scarf was a last minute addition to my travel bag, but it couldn't have complemented this outfit any better. Here are some other ways I've worn my vest in the past:

Also, I wasn't quite in the mood to take pictures this day, which resulted in some silly outtakes:

I'm a goof.

Day 13: An Easy Outfit

day 13

What I'm wearing: J.Crew outlet chambray, Gap Always Skinny jeans, Target sandals, Hand-me-down scarf, J.Crew tote, Vintage earrings and bracelet

I'm officially in back-to-school mode, spending my days shopping and crafting to get ready to move into my new apartment in Columbus. Easy outfits like this one are a must for days filled with running errands all over town. When I arrived home from NYC, I had an unexpected box waiting for me from my aunt, filled with lots of little presents like a Christian Dior book, a fabric flower, and some hand-me-down scarves that she doesn't wear anymore. This scarf is one of them, and I absolutely love that I can easily throw it on and add a ton of color to my outfit. Also keep an eye out for a post coming soon about all of the DIY projects I've been working on. For a sneak peek/where I got my ideas, look here, here, and here.

Day 9: Haphazard

day 9

day 1
What I'm wearing: Urban Outfitters maxi dress, J.Crew outlet chambray shirt, Target scarf and sandals, Forever 21 belt, Vintage earrings

Without fail, every time I do a 30 for 30, I come up with new layering combinations. And while this look seems a little haphazard and kind of reminds me of something my crazy high school art teacher would have worn, I like that I'm trying new things. Also, this backdrop is the lobby of my new (and very temporary) apartment. Isn't it cute?

From Hot to Cold

Frankly, I'm exhausted. I'm still trying to beat this cold while juggling schoolwork and a part-time job. I'm definitely, definitely looking forward to heading home for the weekend and spending some quality time relaxing (hopefully) with family. Today was chilly, chilly, chilly. We seem to have skipped a huge chunk of Fall. We went straight from sleeveless shirt weather to having to bundle up in jackets and scarves. Not cool!

What I'm wearing: Old Navy utility jacket, Forever 21 slouchy top, Simply Vera by Vera Wang jeans via Kohls, Nine West boots, Scarf via SoHo street vendor, Vintage earrings, Forever 21 bangles

I really love all the fall colors in this outfit. It was nice to finally be able to pull out some of the items I bought over the summer in New York. My one complaint is: the jeans. All of my favorites are currently air-drying (I never machine-dry my jeans!), so I was stuck with these today. I bought these back in the days when I was too chicken to try out skinny jeans. They are a weird in-between straight leg that does not tuck very nicely into boots. I know they aren't awful; I just wish they were more flattering. But overall, I liked this outfit. This jacket is definitely going to be a staple for me this season!
