These Little Wonders

The three-day weekend is finally here! Today, I got off work early and decided to celebrate by hanging out in Washington Square Park, accompanied by some reading material and frozen yogurt from the NYU dining hall. It was a beautiful afternoon and the perfect way to start off the holiday weekend.

The Washington Square Arch (look how blue that sky is!)

Pretty flowers in the park

The Washington Square fountain (you can literally sit in it!)

I'm not used to being by myself so much. At home, I am constantly around people and usually don't do things like this by myself. But I'm making the most of it, and I'm trying to use this time to enjoy the little things in life, like pretty flowers in the park or an hour of uninterrupted reading. Here is what I wore for my mini-adventure to the park:

Occasion: Work and relaxing in the park
What I'm wearing: Victoria's Secret PINK tee, True Religion jeans via Saks Off 5th, H&M scarf, Shebead bracelet

By Friday, I always seem to be in the mood for a laidback, casual outfit. I stuck with a basic white tee and jeans combo, using the scarf and bracelet to add a little pop of color. I also managed to put together a whole outfit that didn't involve Forever 21, a rarity for me these days. Not the most exciting outfit I've ever put on, but it fit the bill perfectly for the day I ended up having. The rest of my weekend will be spent exploring the city a little more and spending time with a friend who is visiting from Ohio. Does anyone know of any good spots in NYC to watch the fireworks from? I hope everyone else has a great 4th of July weekend!
